Ferdy will be leading us throw the updating/installing of the following programs:

As we our doing the installations, have a look at the following presentation Did You Know 4.0? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ILQrUrEWe8)

Just to recap what we’ve looked at thus far:

  • Wordpress.com- blog
  • Prezi.com– presentation tool
  • Wordle.net– word cloud
  • Wallwisher.com– a unique communication tool
  • Todaysmeet.com– backchanneling

We’ll start today by looking at GoAnimate (http://goanimate.com/). This is a web tool that could be used to take the place of an oral presentation or even for a teacher to introduce a concept, possibly clarify a concept and lastly, to bring closure to a lesson. It’s different and the students will really enjoy producing projects using it.

Voki (http://voki.com/) is yet another tool that could be used to communicate messages and information of all kinds. Yet another free web tool that is really easy to use.

We’ll also have a look at xtranormal (http://www.xtranormal.com/). Like GoAnimate, this is yet another tool that could be effectively used in the classroom from the viewpoint of a student and as a teacher. It is a little more demanding on your time to produce a ‘movie’ but like GoAnimate, it will be a tool that can take presentations and reports to a different level.

Using one of the three programs – GoAnimate, xtranormal, Voki – create a little ‘lesson’ for a oncept that you might teach this coming school year. So it might be an introduction to a new concept, some reinforcement of content or a message to bring closure to a concept that you might have completed.
