The project is quickly coming to a close. Before Friday, I want you to work with someone but if you want to work on your own, I won’t discourage that either. Using the Program of Studies that you will find in the “Resources for Group Work” link of the course wiki (http://2011dominicaproject.wikispaces.com), I would like you to see how you could incorporate the various tools that we have looked at during the last week into a possible unit plan.
So using the Program of Studies, I want to see what the outcomes are that need to be covered. Then look at the tools we used so far and see if you can incorporate or integrate them into a unit plan. So one group might focus in on the outcomes for Grade Two Math and see how the tools could be used to facilitate a lesson or two – or maybe a whole unit. The idea is that your students will be on the computer all the time for every class but rather, it will be a ‘blended’approach. So it might be a traditional start to a class but then you bring in a tool to emphasize a concept (maybe to introduce a concept using Voki; using video from YouTube that you have embedded into your wiki or blog to show a class for concept reinforcement; or maybe to bring closure to a lesson using wallwisher).
To remind you of what we looked at the last few days together, the tools were:
Blogging using Wordpress.com
Prezi
Wallwisher
Wordle
Todaysmeet
Voki
Xtranormal
(goanimate)
Golgster
Wiki’s - using wikispaces.com
Advanced Search from Google
Dropbox.com– saving documents in cyberspace
SocialMedia – Facebook and Twitter
Telescopictext.org
GoogleEarth
Delicious (online bookmarking)
Some of the sites to visit from the start of theclass that you might incorporate were:
(These are some of the links from the various days –so might want to check back to see others that I didn`t include in this list)
So let’s go to work on this. I will act as a facilitator and assist youwith possible ideas and places to check out. Together, let’s create a lesson or unit that you will hopefully be ableto use in class this September!!
